The polar vortex has heralded a veritable exodus out of the northeast and Midwest in terms of residential real estate, however one trend that is largely unpublicized is the movement of Finance from New York City to Miami. Lloyd Blankfein and Leon Black, two of the titans of finance are rumored to have purchased condominiums in Miami and the founder of hedge fund, Universa Investments has also moved his operations here. The Miami International Boat Show is back and is this weekend spanning across a number of marinas and the Miami Convention Center in Miami Beach. This show draws hundreds of thousands of spectators, vendors, and nautical crews to South Florida and literally hundreds of boats. From yachts to sailboats to navigational equipment there is little industry not represented. Further, it is a social highlight of the Miami season and many events are scheduled on yachts.
